Four days of gain for the Dow, a couple big, today small. Nothing big really going on. XD S&P, in it’s usually nature, lost big (over the last few months) and wins few. Never understood why that happens with it, Dow goes for large and small, while Nasdaq is just there most of the time. XD Next week I am guessing that the Dow will fall, mainly due to: profit taking, “bad” news, and “follow” the leader mind-set (ex: Fall in Europe= Fall in Japan= Fall in America.) There may be some good days, but mainly under 100-point level. I still treat anything above 100 point swing as suspicous, especially when the economy is thought to be getting worse.
On the medium-term (like a month really), oil is stablizing as summer comes along, plus Opec getting desperate for higher gas prices (To me that would be a shot in the foot, it’ll create a huge bubble in a veryyyy short time, leading to an even bigger fall.) Gas prices here have remained almost steady for the last few weeks at $1.75, recently changed to $1.69 at Wally-World today. >.>
Overall a mixed next week. XD

Car transmission blows up and I walk to work, Tuesday afternoon. GRRRRRR. XD GAH. >.> Well, I have a new car to drive for now. XD So NOT all too BAD. >.>

A flash (? Beats me, I am not all too knowledge on computers~) on the type of painting commonly seen in James Pollock works. Also known as action-painting, the paint is put on the canvas as spontaneosly as possible as opposed to the careful application that is usually done. Methods of dripping, smearing, splashing, and using other body parts (Like the foot instead of the hand.)
It’s quite fun to just use to calm down- for me at least. =P
Afgan Troops Increase

20,000-30,000 troops will be sent to Afganistan next year. There are currently about 30,000 U.S. troops already….
“The deployment of additional troops was “directly tied” to the gradual withdrawal from Iraq over the course of the next year, he added.”
So with the U.S. beginning to pull out of Iraq, the focus will be on Afghanistan again, where the fighting has been mull until recently. It seems to me that most Americans have forgotten about Afghanistan, and think we are all done there. But even Obama said he wanted to increase Afghan troop levels, though maybe not as high as the current number. I’m not sure. XD
Back maybe?

Been a long time since I’ve updated here. My apologies. But I’ll list the major events since the last time I posted:
1. Two pets have passed away, both hit by a car by the same neighbor.
2. Sheep (3 ewes and 3 lambs) have been added to our farm. And a dog attacked them and killed two lambs, and the said dog was killed by my stepfather.
3. Finals for Fall 2008 semester, I still don’t know what my grades are yet.
4. Lost a job, so I have two jobs now instead of three. Truth is I’m not missing it much. =P
5. Other than that, day-to-day activites have been relatively the same~
Signing off for now
November 9, 2008 at 11:25 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI won’t be updating this site for a long while. Need to focus on school more and I’m too tired during the days to work on it. So goodbye for now. =)
23% Say NO to Health Insurance
November 3, 2008 at 11:07 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentTags: Business, Economy, Health Insurance
With health insurance such a “big” issue for many (It is now said to be 45 Million without it. Which includes the illegal immigrants too) the number declining it seems a bit surprising.
“The percentage of people declining employer-provided benefits because of cost has been rising since 2001, reaching 23% in 2005, the last year for which data are available, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute. (Of the other 77% who turned down coverage, most did so because they had insurance through a spouse’s policy.)”
While some cannot truly afford the care in conjunction with their other bills, declining it from your employer just makes that 45 number seem oh so much worse. But if the person truly forgoes the insurance by their own choice, then the government should not step in to pay for any illness that may come along.
