Learning is so much Fun, it gives one a massive headache for 2 days.  But onto much more important things!  *Need…..Aspirin……*

Anyways, I was at Hastings {again} and went to go look at the languages section (Which is next to the science, nature, and political sections)  and I saw it!  The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming!  Right next to The Complete Idiots Guide to Global Warming.  Irony?  Well, then it came to me that I didn’t have anything to read at work.  Which is a must or I go insane.  So I bought it.  It was my 3rd purchase in that store.  I think the staff was surprised.

Before that I had been looking up Warming and all the hysteria around it (I already came to the conclusion that we must stop breathing to save the planet) to help sort it all out, mainly out of boredom.

So I got a set of conclusions of sorts:

1. Global Warming won’t kill us all.  It’s been a lot warmer during the Medieval Warming Period{800-1300AD}  (Right before the Little Ice Age) so something other than CO2 caused it.  Hint: The ball of fire.

2. Who in the world listens to the UN?  They can’t do most things right (WHO is a exception), so why listen?

3. Greenland had agriculture on it at one point.  I’d like to see that again.

4. I came across this: {From the book} During the collapse of the USSR, a lot of weather stations closed for many reasons, dropping from about 12,000 to a bit under 6,000 from 1990ish-2000.

http://www.lavoisier.com.au/papers/articles/McKitrick.pdf On page 6, I haven’t read the whole report yet.

5. Even though it’s now known to be Bush’s and America’s fault for global warming.  Just maybe, our CO2 emissions are reaching the Sun and heating it up.  We all know what that means:  It’s time to blow up the Sun.  I know the graph is hard to read, but I couldn’t find a better one!  Sorry! >_<

Left side says:  Total Solar Irridance (W/m2), the bottom is Atomspheric CO2 Concentration (ppm).  The right both say Yearly Artic-wide Surface Temperature Anomalies (Degree C)

I’m not a scientist, but if my opinion matters any, the sun matches with the temperatures a lot more.  While the CO2 well doesn’t……..

6. Lastly- The media likes to flip-flop a lot.  Global cooling!  in the 70s, now G. Warming.  Soon it will be back to Cooling.  Lesson is to never trust the media.

Sunday!

Just random rantness!  Super Smash Bros!  It’s fun and slightly addicting! XD

Available at Wal-Mart and Hastings around here (and online) it’s the game I’m currently playing.  Just be Tabuu, which was hard! O.O

Who I usually play:

Lucario:  He has a good range attack (Aura Sphere), which gets bigger and deals more damage as Lucario’s percentage goes up.  And he’s moderately fast, his Double Team helps avoid attacks!

Pit:  Basically, he can fly, which is helpful in avoiding things like bombs an such.  His sheild can also deflect progectiles and protect against physical attacks!

Sonic:  The fastest player with excellent jumping ability, but no progectile.  Moves are fast but on the weak side.  Speed makes it easy to get at items before the rival does! XD

With unlockable characters, items, stages and challenges I’m going to be playing this for a while!

What a spectacular day today!  Dow is down 358.41 points, SP down 38.82, and the Nasdaq down 79.89 (Ouch.)  Oh well, win some lose some.  Up, down, stagging around!

Now, on to how I predict growth and all that other fun stuff.  So first:

Point movements on:

Dow: -50 to 50, normal range for a “typical” day (ie no bad moves), 75-100 small rally, 100+ exceptional (Too many in a short period indicates wide-spread uncertainty.)  Negative holds true but in reverse.

S&P 500: Usually follows the Dow, but on a much smaller scale.  -10 to 10 normal, 10-20 rally, 20+ rare.  Negative holds true but in reverse.

Nasdaq:  A mixture, sometimes follows the trend sometimes doesn’t.  Very widespread.  -30 to 30, hard to pinpoint so it’s a rough estimate.   Anything below or above 30 should be treated with caution.

With all these hundred point moves on the Dow, over one thing usually, is an example of this uncertainty, and it won’t go away until Oil crashes (July/August.)

5-Yr, 10-Yr, and 30-Yr note is used by me to determine short-term currency exchanges.

Example: 5-Yr is 100.039 {3.37%}, and the 10-Yr is at 98.859 {4.02%}, so I might expect a small increase for the dollar within 6 months if it holds steady, but it will drop a bit later on.  The rates I usually don’t pay any mind to.

Yen-Euro-Pound:  Compare and contrast where the dollar is rising/falling and how it well affects stuff.  It has risen extremely slightly since the year began.  Driven by exports.

Gold is used for currency evaluations over the period of usually a week, so it changes frequently.  At $800-$900/oz.  it varys widely depending on the day and the dollar beating!

Oil and gas, mainly done to figure the price at the pump for the next day/week.  A rule of thumb I developed is:  For every $35-$40/barrel, expect gas prices to rise nationally by about a $1 at the pump.

And keeping track of the trends yields a basic and a small amount of predictions.

Bleh, economies grow and shrink over a period of days, weeks, months, quarters, years, etc…….Inflation plays a big role.  Back when gas reached $2/gallon, it was well-absorbed by most of the US mainly because growth in wages was higher than inflation.  Now, well not so much.  Personally- 31% of my wages (Min. wage; 30-hour week) goes to gas.

One country is experiencing hyperinflation: Zimbabwe (’07; 10,453% currently out of date, still increasing maybe at around 100K%) Next in line is: Burma at 34.4%.

And with the least amount of inflation: Chad (-8.8%), Nauru (-3.6%), San Marino (-1.5%) and Northern Mariana Islands at (-.8%)

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2092rank.html

The overall pattern is that developed countries tend to have low (less than 10%) inflation, while booming economies have higher inflation (China, India, Azerbaijan.)  And of course, developed/developing countries vary in accordance as to who makes a list.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developed_country

For me the list is:  US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, France, Belguim, Netherlands, Luxemborg, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Greece, Israel, Japan, and South Korea.  City states that are developed include: Singapore, Monaco, San Marino, and The Vatican.

Other places: Hong Kong, Macau, Oil-rich countries (Varies by current price), Thailand and Malaysia (Highly-developed but still lacking in some areas.)

Enough writing for now!  Note to self: Explain ways you use to predict stock movement and bonds.  Time to read some Neuro! X3

Someone been visiting.  52 views, makes a sad record! XD

Anyways it’s a Good day.  First it’s Monday.  Second, gas fell at 3 stations to $3.699, which is a record.  3rd, the record is it’s distance from the national average of $4.109, the largest it’s been all year!  Now the question is WHY?

And lastly:  Double-dose of Neuro and Gokusen!

That’s the title to an article on the MSN website:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25311529/&GT1=43001

I’m SO glad they’re upbeat.  So I’ll tackle the 1st paragraph.

“Midwestern levee’s are bursting.”- Blame Congress for not giving the Army Corp the money to fix it.

“Polar bears are adrift.”- If you mean floating, then okay.  Those things can kill you easily.  And there’s plenty of ice.

“Gas prices are skyrocketing.”-Maybe they have on a monthly/yearly basis, but right now, it’s stabilizing.

“Air fares, college tuition, and health care border on unaffordable.”- Haven’t been on a plane for 4 years, my tuition will be about $7,000 for 2 semesters, and there are Health Savings Accounts (Which are tax-free, high-deductible, health insurance plans for individuals/families under 65; Thank you George Bush.)

“Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afganistan, and against terrorism.”- Well these terrorists do want us dead, so I say kill them before they kill us.

Another paragraph:

“It hardly matters to those in the path. Just ask the people of New Orleans who survived Hurricane Katrina. They are living in a city where, 1,000 days after the storm, entire neighborhoods remain abandoned, a national embarrassment that evokes disbelief from visitors.”

Well, I don’t think the government will force people to move back.  And maybe it’s a wake-up call, that kind of says: Don’t build cities below sea-level, and not expect rare powerful Hurricanes to come through.

Yeah I could go on and on, but really:  If this is the worst, then we should have all died during the Great Depression.  Nature does what it wants, it’s only magnified by the media with headlines: “Wildfires rage in CA” or “5 (emphasis on 5) home destroyed by fire.”  Well you knew the risk of living there and there are tips for living there; like cleaning out brush, trimming dead branches…….
